As regards the naval trade (commercial ships, passenger ships, patrol boats, tug boats, mooring, pilot boats, yachts, boats) the installation and maintenance are carried out according to Circular 100/2014 of the port authorities  and eventual supervision of an Authority Ranking of  Shipping register (ex. RINA)

The maintenance phases are carried out:

 

Fixed Co2 firefighting system:

– Annual inspection

Contents in main cylinders checked by liquid level indicator         Calibration LevelMeter

– Biennial inspection

Contents in main cylinders checked by weighing

Contents in main cylinders checked by liquid level indicator

Contents of pilot cylinders checked

All cylinders valves visually inspected

Manifold tested for leakage, by applying dry working air

Main valve and distribution valves visually inspected

Main valve and distribution valves tested for operation

Time delay devices tested for correct setting

Remote release system visually inspected

Release station visually inspected

Warning alarms (audible/visual) tested

Fan stop tested

Distribution lines and nozzles blown through, by applying dry working air

All instruction and warning signs on installation inspected

All flexible hoses renewed and check valves in manifold visually inspected every 10 years

Release controls and distribution valves reconnected and system put back in service

Inspection date tags attached

– Five-year inspection

The safety valve on the discharge line to the atmosphere must be disassembled, cleaned and calibrated

– Ten-year inspection (in presence of an Authority Ranking)

High pressure cylinders should be subject to periodic inspections at intervals not exceeding 10 years during which at least 10% of the total number of cylinders must be submitted to an internal inspection and hydrostatic test

 

Portable and wheeled powder and Co2 extinguishers:

– Annual inspection

– Five-year inspection ONLY WITH CASING NOT UNDER PRESSURE (in presence of an Authority Ranking)

Hydrostatic test

– Ten-year inspection ONLY WITH CASING UNDER PRESSURE (in presence of an Authority Ranking)

Hydrostatic test

 

Portable and wheeled foam and water extinguishers:

– Annual charge

– Five-year inspection ONLY WITH CASING NOT UNDER PRESSURE (in presence of an Authority Ranking)

Hydrostatic test

– Ten-year inspection ONLY WITH CASING UNDER PRESSURE (in presence of an Authority Ranking)

Hydrostatic test

 

Small cylinders under pressure employed for the fire extinguishers that are pressurized at the time of use

– Internal inspection every 5 years

– Every 5 years in the case where it is not possible the internal inspection and anyhow every 10 years hydrostatic test in presence of an Authority Ranking

 

Breathing apparatus:

– Annual inspection   through Certified Test Equipment Spasciani

Capacity check of pressure reducer

Checking the warning beep

Capacity check of high and medium pressure components

Replacement o-ring

General test of functionality

General cleaning

Check capacity pressure

Check activation pressure

Check of the membranes conditions

Cleaning and disinfection

Cleaning, disinfection, drying and bagging sealed of the mask

 

Air cylinders (breathing apparatus – E.E.B.D.):                    AIR QUALITY CERTIFICATE

– Annual charge (with air accordant regulations UNI-EN 12021

– Every 5 years hydrostatic test (in presence of an Authority Ranking)
